I first read about this project in the previous month’s issue of Geek Parenting Magazine, and was totally thrilled with the implications. These blocks connect just like other popular building blocks, but with the added benefits of electricity – including LED lights and motorized parts, making it possible for kids (or adults) to actually build working machines! This is the perfect kind of toy for developing STEM skills and a truly great example of learning through play.
Okay, I realize I’m late to the party again, but that’s one of the many reasons why we decided to stay away from news on Our Worlds of Adventure, sticking strictly with the lifestyle stuff. (Even when we do reviews, they’re generally about stuff we love and want to share, rather than trying to be “first” to let you know. ‘Cause let’s face it, sometimes we review some really OLD stuff. But hopefully, our reviews will either introduce you to something you hadn’t heard of, encourage you to give the book/movie/TV show/comic, etc. a look, if you hadn’t already, or get you thinking about the old story in a new way.)
So, on that note . . . Even though the announcement was made two months ago (*sigh*), I just heard about this, this week – She-Hulk is coming to Netflix! She-Hulk is one of the few comics I read; not sure exactly what it is about the giant green superheroine, but the character piqued my interest after reading The She-Hulk Diaries a few years ago. After which, my husband bought me a copy of the Essential Savage She-Hulk as a Christmas gift, and I fell in love. (I’m seriously tempted to do a cosplay, but the thought of wearing green paint all day at a con is keeping me from it . . .)
So, naturally, I was totally psyched to hear that Netflix is adding She-Hulk to their on-going lineup of Marvel series! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Both are excellent (although VERY adult – be forewarned, these are NOT family friendly.) The series will take place in the aftermath of The Defenders, which is scheduled to being filming in late 2016.
